During this week Class 2 have joined forces with year 5’s to create their very own pyramid which will be used to enhance the outside area, it will be available for all to use during play times.
Class 2 have been using their Maths skills to investigate ‘consecutive’ numbers. After first creating number sentences with these numbers we asked the question ‘what similarities and differences are there between the results’. We also extended our learning by asking ‘What would happen if …’ Including fractions, three consecutive numbers. In order to assist our investigation our starter was to look at number lines which included negatives.
Pupils have arrived safely at Hathersage and are busy unpacking and making their beds! Next stop, orienteering!
Stage 4 mathematicians have been using their calculation skills to ‘use a 24hour timetable to find out times of a journey around the U.K.’ This problem solving activity allowed them to organise a 12 hour journey for Paddington. After working collaboratively in groups of three they presented their work to the rest of class 2.
